May 08 Silhouette

Nine shooters were present, including myself, so I opted out to run the match and keep it to one relay. I noted the overload of guests versus club members, and welcomed all to the MCRC Tune up Match.  MCRC will shoot the same format this coming weekend, with the same start time.

We managed to get through the day without any rain, but the 88 degrees and windy conditions were challenge enough.  We welcomed Devin Bell to the MCRC Silhouette Shooters visitors.  He might be one to watch. Only two shooters improved their scores, second vs. first match. Wayne up ONE, Devin up EIGHT. Mical Bowling and Richard Warkentin each shot consistent totals, 25 and 15 respectively.

Folks, this is an SRRPC - hosted match. I like to run it, I like to shoot it, but without some more and regular participatory support by SRRPC members (shooting and helping with the work), I don't know that a 2009 season is in the cards.  The club has to make a decision by end of October, for the schedule to be published in Shooting Sports in January.

I brought my new dog to get her more acclimated to people and gunfire.  It was an interesting experiment, she tolerated the gunfire, but did not like to be isolated.  Afterwards, she "paced me" on the lawnmower until all the grass was cut at the rifle range.  We both slept through the thunderstorms Sunday morning; I had to wake her up to take her outdoors before I left for church.

I sent this to you on the distribution so that the other "regulars" could see what score they might to shoot to stand on the winners spot, to encourage more practice, and to get your future participation in these positive competitive matches. Next weekend is also the North Carolina State Championship Matches, so Wayne and Mical won't be on the line at MCRC...

Shoot safely, and introduce another to the shooting sports.
