The meeting was called to order by President, Jim Samsel at 7:00 PM. Officers present were Jim Samsel, Joe Podesta, George Laverick,David Nichols, Kevin Lilly, and Roger Ward. Several members and guests were also present.

Minutes of the September 23, 2012 meeting were read by George Laverick, and were accepted as read with correction of one misspelled name.

Treasurer's Report

The Treasurers report was given by Roger Ward. Members wishing to know more detail should contact the Treasurer directly..

Armorer's Report

Kevin Lilly reported that seven of the M1 Garand rifles have been returned. The member who has the last one is still out of town.

Range Report

David Nichols reported that the range is in good shape. He is going to get rid of the “shot up” 1x2's and purchase some replacements.

Old Business

Ballots were collected from the members present regarding the proposed amendment to Article 4.d). of the Club Bylaws and were tallied along with the absentee ballots submitted. Twenty percent of the members of the club (47 members of 234) must vote to constitute a quorum, and two-thirds of those voting must be in favor for the amendment to pass. The final count was 84 for approval and 7 to reject. The amendment passed.

A member asked about use of the indoor range. Jim Samsel explained that the range is normally available for club use from 7 to 9 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If something comes up that we can't use the range (and we are notified in time) we will post the information on the website calendar. Members wishing to shoot at the range must fill sign a release form for the city and a club form accepting the range rules. Pistols and .22 rimfire rifles may be used. Members are advised to bring target backers approximately 2 ft. x 2 ft and binder clips to hang it up. A Range Officer accepted by the city must be present.

Roger Ward asked what Phil Kestin's response was to listing the ADPS range on the website. Jim said he forgot to ask so will call and ask tomorrow.

The issue of the electronic gate was brought up, but it has been tabled for the present since most members did not seem to find it important.

Joe Podesta reported on the work day for clearing a path for sighting the new 200/300 yard range. Joe will now proceed with a draft specification for the initial ground work. The range will be firing across the peaks of the gullies and will be about 2 feet below the firing line.

New Business

Four new members were accepted into the club.

Jim pointed out that we are nearing our membership limit, but there does not appear to be any overcrowding at the range. We need to re-evaluate the need for the limit of 250.

All of the officers (with the possible exception of Roger Ward) indicated they would be available for the November meeting (right after Thanksgiving). The December meeting will be discussed at the November meeting.

Joe Podesta moved the meeting be adjourned. It was seconded and approved.

A tour of the indoor range was given to the members present at the meeting.

The next meeting will be Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the ADPS indoor range.
