A beautiful unseasonably warm day at the range in February was enjoyed by seven shooters. We wondered where everyone else might have been…

In the Silhouette Rifle Match, the only one who seemed to have it together was Match Winner Wayne Robinson, who just stood in there and shot them down. The rest of us seemed to be trying to remember why we were there...The AA class winner was Roger Ward, posting a 19 in his first match in over three years.  First A was won by Frank Moore, with a 14.

In the Hunting Rifle Match, most of the shooters recovered a bit from the first event.  Wayne won it all with a 28, Mical Bowling took first AA with a 21, closely contested by Roger. Gordon Baker won the A Class via a (two shot) shoot-off versus Ed Sharp.

No one shot any ten-in-a-row legs of a grand slam.  No one earned a new 5 in a row pin.  The gusty wind did play a role as the day wore on.

We welcomed back Roger Ward, who last competed in the 2004 season, and came out of “retirement” with a new rifle.

Thanks to all participants who showed up; everyone assisted as able in set up, paperwork, and break down.  It was a safe and enjoyable match, and we all hope to see more competitors in the future.

MCRC shoots their SBR silhouette match Sat., February 16, starts at noon.
